Where is Indonesia Located?

Indonesia is a chain of islands called an archipelago.  It is located right on the equator between Southeast Asia and Australia.  It is made up of over 17,500 islands!

Indonesia has the greatest number of endangered species of animals.  Here are a few of them.

Religions of Indonesia

Over 85 % of Indonesians are Muslim, but there are 6 recognized religions including Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, Catholicism, & Confucianism.  The island of Bali is predominantly Hindu and the island of Papua is mostly protestant.  

People of Indonesia

The islands of Indonesia are populated with over 240 million people!  This makes it the 4th most populous country in the world.  There are more than 300 different people groups who all have different cultures and languages!  Indonesian is the main language of the country.
